Are you a hands‑on 2nd Line Engineer who loves solving tricky problems and owning tickets through to resolution? About the role

You’ll provide dedicated 2nd line support across a M365/Windows estate, taking ownership of incidents and service requests raised via the IT Service Desk. You’ll diagnose and fix issues in person and via phone/email/remote tools, collaborate closely with colleagues and vendors, and contribute to planned maintenance and small projects throughout the year.

This is an onsite role based in Edinburgh, Monday to Friday, with occasional out‑of‑hours work for planned changes. You’ll also be the type of person who is happy to jump in and resolve 1st line issues too, no one is bigger than the team here.

What you’ll do

• Act as an escalation point for the Service Desk, owning tickets end‑to‑end and keeping users informed throughout.
• Support core platforms and services including Windows 11, Microsoft 365/Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory, with some macOS in play, Wi‑Fi, and AV (Promethean/projectors). 
• Administer and use Intune/Autopilot and Jamf for build, deployment and device compliance; maintain security, asset and knowledge base records.
• Collaborate on improvement initiatives (e.g., software asset management, rolling device refresh, self‑service portal) and contribute documentation and handovers.
• Plan and execute maintenance with minimal classroom disruption; escalate risks promptly and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

What we’re looking for

• Solid 2nd line support experience in a busy, customer‑focused environment, with strong troubleshooting and decision‑making under pressure.
• Practical experience across Windows devices; confidence with AD administration and endpoint management (Jamf, Intune, Autopilot).
• Familiarity with M365 (including security/governance).
• Clear communicator who can prioritise effectively, document fixes, and collaborate as part of a small, high‑performing team.

Nice to have

• ITIL Foundation; Microsoft and/or Apple certifications.
• Experience with Microsoft Server, database/MIS (e.g., iSAMS, SQL), and/or education sector environments.

Working as part of a team that supports Front Office departments you will be responsible for designing and delivering solutions that have a strong customer focus; this will be a mixture of existing and new systems and will utilise your C# development experience extensively.  Legacy systems are mainly written in C# / WinForms with Oracle as the main database, however there is also multiple applications written in .Net Core, Angular, and Entity Framework – it would be ideal if you have a solid mixture of all those skills over your previous work.  In this role you will engage heavily with stakeholders so previous experience of stakeholder engagement coupled with strong communication skills is ideal; this team is highly collaborative and works to high level of attention-to-detail so these traits are highly sought after.

Project Manager (Data Focus) – Edinburgh (Hybrid)

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a busy delivery environment in central Edinburgh, with a strong emphasis on data-led projects (including migration and platform transitions). You’ll take ownership of end-to-end delivery, ensuring projects are delivered to scope, budget, and timelines while maintaining robust governance and control.

The initial focus will be on data programmes, so experience managing data migration, cutovers, and business readiness is key. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, suppliers, and delivery teams, managing RAID logs, tracking financials, and driving progress across complex, interdependent workstreams.

There is an expectation to pick up projects across other areas as needed, so this suits a well-rounded PM who can adapt across different domains while maintaining a structured, delivery-focused approach.
