I'm working with a financial services organisation embarking on a significant period of growth and technology maturity. This is a rare opportunity to become the CTO's trusted right hand, helping shape the technology function, introduce greater governance and operational rigour, and create the space for the CTO to focus on strategic leadership.

The role centres on driving accountability, governance, executive reporting, leadership alignment, and operational effectiveness across the technology function.

You'll operate at the heart of the technology leadership team, bringing structure, pace and visibility to a complex environment while influencing senior stakeholders and helping mature the overall technology estate.

We're keen to speak with individuals who can demonstrate:

• Proven experience operating as a Chief of Staff to a CTO, CIO or equivalent technology executive.
• A track record of implementing governance, reporting frameworks and leadership operating rhythms.
• Strong board and executive stakeholder management experience.
• The ability to influence and challenge senior technology leaders constructively.
• Experience within financial services or another regulated environment.
• A software engineering background (highly desirable).
• The credibility and judgement to operate autonomously on behalf of a CTO.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit at arm's length from delivery. We're looking for a hands-on operator who can balance strategic thinking with practical execution and help build a more mature, scalable technology organisation.

This is not a programme delivery role. We're looking for a senior transformation leader who has successfully delivered large-scale organisational and technology change within a regulated environment and can bring credibility, insight and practical experience to help shape the next phase of growth. Working closely with the CTO and senior leadership team, you'll influence strategic direction, introduce structure and governance, improve delivery practices, and help create a technology organisation capable of supporting future expansion.

• Gravitas, commercial awareness and excellent communication skills.
• A track record of implementing change while maintaining stakeholder engagement.

Highly desirable:

• Previous technical or software engineering background.
• Experience within Microsoft / Azure environments.
• Exposure to target operating model design and implementation.

We're working with a long-standing Edinburgh-based organisation with a genuinely outstanding culture and superb city-centre offices. As part of a major operational transformation programme, they are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join them on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This role will focus on understanding and improving operational processes, leading requirements gathering, process mapping, stakeholder workshops, vendor selection activities, and supporting the implementation of new systems and ways of working. You'll work closely with both technology and business teams, to help deliver meaningful change across a complex operational environment.
