Platform Engineer

Evolve's highly respected financial services client are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Platform Analyst with a breadth of technical knowledge to join their Platforms team in their Edinburgh Central office on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants a diverse role which encompasses both BAU and Project work as you will be instrumental in defining, building and supporting the expanding Linux estate across the organisation. You will be heavily involved in bringing automation and best-practices to the table and will work closely with the DevOps team. 

The role will work as part of a larger multi-disciplined team and will provide subject matter expertise in the Linux field. 

The successful Platform Engineer will have the following technical skills and experience:

- proven track record in systems administration with Linux/Unix and ideally in a Red Hat Linux environment

- Build and configuration experience

- Automation using Puppet, Ansible or Terraform

- Windows environment experience

- Docker and Kubernetes as well as Linux security knowledge would also be beneficial

Work will be remotely based initially and will then be based from their socially distanced Central Edinburgh offices. The role will work a standard 9-5pm hours with very occasional requirement for on-call but no shift work.
