MIS Platform Owner
Location: Edinburgh (Office-based)
We're seeking an experienced MIS Platform Owner to take ownership of a key education-focused management information system and help drive the effective use of data, reporting and business processes across the organisation.
Working as part of the IT team, you'll collaborate closely with stakeholders and a steering group to develop reporting capabilities, improve data visibility and ensure the platform is being used effectively and consistently. This is a hands-on role that combines system ownership, reporting, governance and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the organisation's MIS platform, ensuring it remains reliable, secure and aligned to business needs
- Work closely with stakeholders to develop and enhance dashboards, reports and standardised documentation
- Build and maintain reporting solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Report Builder and related Microsoft reporting tools
- Establish best-practice user access controls, permissions and data governance processes
- Support the continual improvement and adoption of reporting standards across the organisation
- Lead engagement with a steering group to prioritise enhancements, improvements and future development
About You
- Previous experience working within the education sector
- Strong knowledge of iSAMS, SIMS, SchoolBase or another education-focused MIS platforms
- Proven experience producing management information, dashboards and operational reports
- Strong Power BI and/or Microsoft Report Builder expertise
- Understanding of data governance, access management and reporting best practice
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
