Evolve IT’s financial services client is going through an exciting time and looking to bring on an experienced Data Engineer to be part of a fantastic Customer Insights team permanently. This role will give the successful candidate an amazing challenge, the chance to work in a varied role, modernising the platform and driving the companies’ data strategy in line with business objectives.  

I am ideally looking for a Microsoft stack specialist who has an in-depth background in SQL data base technologies. The client are transitioning to a cloud solution (Azure) and are looking to bring in an employee who has and similar data engineering experience in previous roles. Delivery is at the fore front of everything the team do and you will be liaising with numerous teams across the business and producing quality solutions.

  • Working with large volumes of data, numeric and time series data
  • Microsoft Fabric and related Azure technologies
    • Databricks
    • SQL DB
    • Data Lake
    • Synapse Analytics
  • Building robust and scalable pipelines
  • Data Strategy implementation and optimisation
  • Collaborative mind set with a drive to improve technical capabilities

Nice to Have

  • Modelling and Data Science expertise
  • BI Visualisation experience
  • Exposure to programming languages and applications (c# / .Net, R or Python)
  • Previous Platform design and development expertise

This role is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in a new team, understand and influence the technologies used along with current data solutions in place, and also play a key part in improving their data solution offering to end clients for one for the biggest account in the firm. This is very much seen as a long term engagement and after the initial onboarding period and once you are fully up to speed, the long term strategy will be to collaborate with senior members of the team and design, build and implement a data platform solution from scratch – roles like this do not come along often in the Scottish market!
