IT Support Analyst – 12-month FTC - £28-31k - Edinburgh
 

Evolve IT’s very well-known and highly respected Investment Management client, is currently looking to add an experienced 2nd Line IT Support Analyst to join their Information Systems team. Our client has won numerous external awards for the services and invests heavily in both their staff and technology. My client demands “5-star service” from all their staff and therefore need people who are polite, helpful and confident. The team is a close-knit unit that socialise together and gets on well so it’s a good environment to be joining.

The role is standard technical support in the 2nd line – dealing with escalations across all apps, systems, and technologies that the company use. Our client is a Windows house so you will primarily be dealing with MS Windows issues and desktops. This will primarily be done over the phone but there will also be desk visits required. You will also work at what my client calls a “Tech stop” –  their version of the Apple Genius Bar where members of staff can just drop in with their tech to get it fixed.

As an IT Support Analyst your key responsibility will be to resolve technical problems by providing on-site, Service Desk, face to face, and over the telephone support. You will be a natural communicator and relationship builder. You will be part of a highly collaborative, team-based environment and you will constantly be learning.

 

You’ll install, configure, and document systems using current standards and procedures. As assistance is requested from the Support Desk, you’ll monitor, log and allocate calls to ensure a high level of service is provided and make sure the correct escalation procedures are adhered to. Furthermore, It will be your responsibility to carry out daily checks and taking appropriate action and issue and maintain laptops, mobile phones, AV units, and general stock. 

 

Experience Required:

  • Previous technical support experience within a service desk setting
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows 10 OS, MAC OSX & iOS, Exchange 2016
  • Active Directory Administration, as well as advanced skills in supporting Microsoft Office suite including 365.
  • A high level of technical understanding of PCs, printers, and peripherals is a must, along with experience of tools to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with remote users.
