Our client is looking to hire an experienced Digital Print Manager to replace their outgoing manager who is looking to move on early next year. The role is of huge importance to our client as you will replacing a long-serving and highly respected manager in their business; you will be able to communicate across all levels of both internal and external stakeholders, while having excellent vendor / supplier management skills and be used to measuring suppliers against their SLA’s.
The role has a number of responsibilities which are outlined below, however the key four areas are: supplier negotiation and management, team management, continuous improvement, and being able to be hands-on as and when needed. The print department is very much on-demand and covers a huge range of areas of what may be printed, so being flexible and having strong prioritisation skills is a must. This is a hands-on role, utilising strong print and finishing skills to help the production staff during busier periods or covering staff absence, you will be able to demonstrate a wide range of skills across a Digital Print environment and will still enjoy the ‘ink under the nails’.

As the Digital Print Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the internal print team staff; 1-2-1’s, training, holiday / absence management, and team motivation and wellbeing
- Work alongside the internal design and creative teams in regard to artwork allocation and quality
- Manage a range of senior internal stakeholders (up to partner level) – delivering five star customer service and highlighting any bottlenecks that impact delivery times
- Manage the quality control of all final digital print output, ensuring the highest level of standards are maintained
- Ensure audit standards (to FSC level), health and safety and compliance procedures are followed and adhered to
- Manage a wide range of supplier and vendor relationships
- Negotiation with external vendors for the sourcing of all equipment and consumables, managing SLA’s with approved vendors
- Keeping a keen eye on new emerging product development and technology in Digital Print and ensuring the department utilises the best products on the market
What you’re background will demonstrate is:
- Experience working in and leading a print room or shop; this may be within financial services, a commercial printers, a print shop, or a design agency with inhouse printing
- Extensive track record in digital print; producing a wide range of printed solutions across marketing pack production, large format printing, wire binding, and lamination.
- Extensive background in the assessment, engagement, and ongoing management of a wide range of suppliers that deliver products to a digital print environment
- Demonstrable background in the management of staff, coaching / mentoring where needed, keeping a highly motivated team delivering a high level of service
- Print Finishing skills
- Skilled in working with Adobe Products such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat DC
