Business Analyst – 6 Month Inside IR35 - £300-£350/Day (Gross Pay)

Our client, a very well-known and highly respected Client, is currently looking to add an experienced Business Analyst to their Information Systems Department. My client has won numerous external awards for the services and invests heavily in both their staff and technology.
 

The Role:

Working as part of the Information System team, you will be focussing on The Multi-Asset and Fixed Income (MAFI) area. This requires development in several areas of the business such as Systems & Processes Client Management Legal & Regulations.  This programmer exists to ensure MAFI systems are scalable and Flexible for long-term growth.

This role relates to a project with the goal of improving current data provision and to ensure and reliable and consistent sour e of data is available to support the day-to-day investment operations and decision-making multiple sources of the same data, inconsistent data points and a high level of manual interrogation and reconciliation are some of the current challenges.  

The Skills:

You will need significant experience in Data Analysis and have worked in projects involving data solutions development. Your work will focus on improving and enhancing internal systems. To understand the root cause of existing constraints as well as the desired capabilities you should be comfortable with collecting and documenting requirements from all levels of stakeholders

You will have an in-depth understanding of the full software development process. Although the construction of any solutions will be carried out by the dedicated development teams you will be working closely with them as the project progresses.

 

The Understanding of typical investment data sources and Appreciation of data governance processes and procedures is Key. Familiarity with agile development methodologies e.g. Scrum and Kanban preferred. Furthermore, Experience working in Investment Management and Hands-on Experience in SQL will be useful.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Use analysis techniques to gain a solid understanding of business processes and associated data problems or opportunities for improvement
  • Elicit high-level requirements from stakeholders
  • Develop a strong, in-depth understanding of data flows and data relating to the MAFI business
  • Contribute to the development of data models
  • Work collaboratively with the technical delivery team to find solutions to meet requirements
  • The role will involve analyzing data mostly held in an Oracle database but may include other databases e.g. SQL Server
  • Document clear user stories and acceptance criteria, if required
  • Support system testing, including assisting with test script review and acting as the first point of contact during execution
  • Maintain focus throughout the life of the project on delivering business value and meeting the business requirements
  • Facilitate effective communication between all project team members
  • Contribute to the wider BA community to share techniques and guidance with other staff and junior BAs.
  • Strong team player who is willing to support the work of other roles in the team and assist with work where appropriate
