About the Opportunity
A prestigious, top-ranked independent law firm is seeking an ambitious Data Analyst & Systems Implementation Owner to join its Business Support team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of varied projects, support Finance, HR, and Compliance teams, and further develop your data analysis and system implementation skills.
You’ll be the technical expert for data extraction and reporting, working closely with colleagues across all levels and offices. The role is based in Edinburgh, requires regular onsite time, with some hybrid working and occasional travel to London.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality data extraction, report building, and analysis to support Finance, HR, and Compliance.
- Act as a technical expert for core systems, providing support and guidance across the firm.
- Develop and oversee data strategies to optimise management information and support business objectives.
- Deliver training and technical support to nurture talent and maximise the potential of colleagues.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting and implement technology solutions within budget.
- Provide technical insight and analysis of core systems, supporting change management and process documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design, configure, and customise new and existing solutions.
- Ensure high standards of confidentiality, accountability, and integrity in all business support activities.
- Train users and deliver presentations or demos as needed.
Skills & Experience
- Creative, experimental approach to problem-solving and ability to manage multiple demands.
- Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels.
- Self-starter with the ability to generate ideas and business cases.
- Broad understanding of financial, compliance, and HR systems.
- Recent experience with M365 and Power Platforms; Power BI experience is a distinct advantage.
- Significant experience with financial reporting systems, controls, and processes (Elite 3E and Xero experience beneficial but not essential).
- Practical experience with SQL, SFTP, and APIs advantageous.
- Basic project management skills and ability to interpret stakeholder needs.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise, and deliver on time.
- Strong skills in interpreting and presenting financial data in a business context.
