Cyber Security Lead – Permanent – Glasgow or Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Evolve IT Recruitment are recruiting for one of our most prestigious clients in Scotland, they are looking to hire an experienced Cyber Security Led to join their innovative team in Edinburgh or Glasgow. As one of the leading companies in their industry, our client invests heavily in the latest technology across infrastructure and software, working in line with Devops and CI/CD methodologies to ensure the efficient delivery of creative solutions that help drive their business forward, as a Cyber Security Lead you will manage a small team of cyber security engineers and spearhead new initiatives while maximizing the potential of existing cyber security technologies. Working in a pivotal role alongside the IT Network & Security Manager you will help deliver the company’s business objectives while maintaining robust cyber defence practices.
Your key responsibilities in the role will include:
- Leading a team of cyber security engineers
- Deliver multi-discipline projects as the cyber security subject matter expert
- Serve as the technical lead for all cyber security queries
- Research, recommend, and advise on the latest cyber security best practices and solutions
- Drive continuous improvement to maintain ISO-27001 and Cyber Essentials accreditations.
- Ensure adherence to Information Security standards, policies, and procedures.
- Utilising Azure DevOps to oversee project-related and non-service desk tasks for the year ahead
- Enhance the value from existing Microsoft Licensing Agreements.
- Collaborate with the Security Operating Centre and networking engineers to promote security initiatives across teams.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience as an IT Security Manager or Security Lead with a strong technical background in cyber security
- Familiarity with the M365 stack from a security perspective, including Defender and Azure
- Proficiency in vulnerability management, web application filtering, and security audits (including ISO27001)
- Experience in project management, preferably in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly
- Demonstrated ability to manage personnel effectively in a team setting
- Qualifications in IT or relevant experience, with advantageous certifications (Microsoft Cybersecurity experts, Security+, Network+)
This role can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow and is a genuine hybrid role requiring only two days a week in the office.
