Applications Developer - Edinburgh - (Fully Remote Working until regulations allow 1-2 days per week in office)
Evolve’s prestigious financial services client, based in Edinburgh City Centre, are looking for an experienced Applications Developer to join them on a permanent basis. Working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team focussed on the front office systems section this role will work alongside other developers, testers, business analysts and project managers.
This role will be heavily involved with their bespoke in-house applications and will have a dual purpose of modernising existing software applications and developing new applications across a variety of financial services functions primarily within equity and bond products. This role will also provide expert 3rd line escalation support to the Applications Support team. You will be both at the cutting edge of new projects and products as well as ensuring the smooth running of existing systems.
The successful Applications Developer will have a strong background in C#, .NET Winforms and ideally have a range of tech skills across the following tech stack.
- C#/.NET Winforms and Oracle PL/SQL
- Some experience in web technologies such as WPF/Winforms
- Database development (SQL Server T-SQL / Oracle PLSQL) would be advantageous as would any experience in Oracle or SQL Server.
- Agile experience
- Exposure to one or more of Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes
- Willingness to learn and work in new and leading technologies
The successful Apps Developer will be someone with a passion for coding and who wants to be involved in a hands-on technical way with pioneering technology within the finance/investments sector. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to articulate your knowledge to multiple audiences.
