Evolve-IT are happy to present an IT Support role for our client who specialise in providing IT Solutions for small and medium business needs. You will be joining a team of highly skilled professionals to ensure the highest possible standards are maintained, whilst dealing with tickets promptly and effectively. This job is based in their Central Edinburgh office 5 days a week on a permanent basis.


Due to Evolve’s client expanding and wishing to provide a better quality of service to their clients, the successful applicant will require excellent interpersonal skills whilst being responsible for the first point of contact with customers. You will be working alongside a team of other people at your level and reporting to a Senior IT Technician, whilst receiving quality training at the beginning of the role and as an ongoing basis.


You will be heavily involved with troubleshooting desktop computers, administrating Microsoft Office365 systems throughout the businesses and providing basic server support. Our client looks for individuals who will go above and beyond their job-spec to provide the best possible customer service.


The successful 1st Line IT Support Technician will possess the following skills and experience:



  • Previous experience using Microsoft Office Tech Stack including but not limited to Email, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Knowledge and experience in Technical Support and Computer Repair
  • Proven Problem Solving in terms of troubleshooting
  • HNC/HND in Tech related subject
  • Knowledge of Desktop Computers and Printer Support
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly
  • Willingness to learn and a proactive approach
  • Ability to recognise when it is appropriate to pass jobs on to senior members of the team


Nice to have:

  • IT/Technology related degree or equivalent commercial experience
  • Experience working within an MSP
  • Previous experience communicating and working with businesses and business owners
