Evolve IT are working with a fantastic client who are the UK’s leading marine engineering specialists. The business is now looking for a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join the team. This role will be based within the Glasgow office which will initially be onsite however, in time will change to a hybrid working model.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone to join a well-established business who have been shipbuilding and delivering quality marine engineering and non-marine engineering projects.

As a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing IT to the business using FMPG deployed incident and request management application.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be accountable for supporting an ongoing understanding of the business’s user requirements associated with the support and evolution of IT strategy, guaranteeing that these match with the set technology roadmap.
  • You will report ITIL processes such as Release, Change, Configuration, Incident and Problem Management and guarantee that this is finalized in accordance with the businesses business policy and governance whilst supporting the delivery and success of the IT objectives.
  • Work closely with 3rd party business partners of the products supporting the business.
  • Assist deployed IT technology as well as products and services linked with the business whilst working alongside the business stakeholders and external partners to assist the development and efficient operation of IT service.
  • You will take responsibility for the preparation and delivery of day-to-day communications on IT proposals and service delivery and performance.

 

Skills, Qualifications and Other Requirements:

  • You will have the ability to communicate and create relationships with colleagues and have the capability to develop effective communication skills with both Technical and non-technical individuals.
  • You will have previous experience of SME IT security, networking, applications, and service management principles & practices.
  • Proven experience chairing meetings, workshops and presenting would be an advantage.
  • You will have excellent decision making and prioritisation skills.
  • You will be a flexible individual with the ability to consider new ways of working and adapt to change and the ability to developer an understanding of new technologies.
  • You will have an insight into project management principles

In return our client will offer a fantastic annual salary of up to £42,000 for the right candidate.
